Athens Convention and Visitor's Bureau (ACVB) Supports ADCG Project

The following recent comments from Chuck Jones, Director, Athens CVB.

"The Athens CVB is affiliated with many organizations which help the CVB maximize its promotional message.  The Arts Development Council of Georgia (ADCG), www.adcg.org, is one of these organizations.  CVB Director Chuck Jones serves on its board of directors.  Of course, the arts is an integral part of Athens' brand.

The ADCG is partnering with the Woodruff Arts Center to identify creative students in our public schools and nuture their development, with the focus beingon counties without an established arts program or curriculum.  Nearby Hancock and Taliaferro Counties are targeted as pilot participants.  A curriculum would be developed for such students.  ADCG's goal is to have an arts-centric career track in every Georgia school.

A state that has a creative workforce with outstanding artists and craft makers will attract visitors, who will consistenly purchase their products and help to fuel our economy.  We can all relate to this kind of creative economic development."
