Arts Development Council of Georgia (ADCG) August Meeting

The Arts Development Council of Georgia (ADCG) will hold its next General Membership/Open Meeting in Monroe, Georgia at the jointly hosted venues of Wild Child Arts Gallery (WCAG) at 120 N. Wayne St., Monroe and the Monroe Art Guild (MAG) at 205 S. Broad St., Monroe in Walton County.

The meeting begins with a brief tour at the WCAG at 9:30 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2008 and continues at the guild’s location at 10:00 AM. The ADCG is continuing its membership drive and hopes many new members will attend.

Rose Handy, owner of WCAG and Sarah Howard, Director of the MAG, are co-hosting and arranging the presentations at each venue. Handy will give a presentation on their gallery, art classes and art supplies business. Howard will give a presentation on their current activities and the future projects of the MAG.

The successful 'Two Minutes of Fame' show-and-tell introduction exercise will be held again. Artists are asked to bring a piece of their art (that they can hold in one hand) and be prepared to give a very brief talk on their art, their “Two Minutes of Fame”. Howard and Handy are arranging this segment.

Refreshments will be offered by WCAG and MAG at the guild‘s facility.

The ADCG three-point mission is cultivating a thriving economic environment for the creative expression and appreciation for the arts through entrepreneurial development, education and marketing.
